** PLEASE NOTE **

  • Also, as of June 17, 2022, incoming travelers, regardless of their country of orgin, are not longer subjected to Covid-19 tests on arrival. However, all travelers entering the country must undergo screening, including body temperature check, and present the required documents to the immigration/Health Control officer.
  • Unvaccinated travelers need to upload proof of a negative result from an RT-PCR test or professional ATK within 72 hours of travel.
  • Currently, with most airlines, wearing a mask onboard is optional. You will have to check with and abide by your airlines rules and regulations.
  • Cash versus credit cards: Thailand is largely as cash-based society. Large cities will accept Visa and Mastercard (Amex and Discover may not be as widely accepted). We will be in areas that are very rural and areas that are cities. Be prepared with cash instead of relying on credit cards.
  • While in Bangkok you will be able to withdraw more cash at ATMs. Check the exchange rate before making your withdrawals. As with other countries, it is more expensive at airports than at local ATMs.
  • The official currency is Baht for both coin and bills. Check with your bank ahead of time to bring cash with you. They usually ask for 3-7 days to request an exchange distribution.
  • Exchange rate (although it varies): $1 USD is approximately 34 Baht dollars depending on the daily exchange.
    • Baht Symbols & Names | THB, ฿, บาท |
      | 1 THB | Each Baht is subdivided into 100 satang (สตางค์) |
      | THB coins | Though coins issued in satang values do exist, they are rarely used. Most tourist businesses round to the nearest baht. More commonly, you will see coins in 1, 2, 5 and 10 Baht denominations. |
      | THB banknotes | Notes of 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 Baht denominations are used. |

  • We will send you an email of a list of recommended things to bring with you on this trip. This will also be on your thank you/welcome page, once registering.
  • Please be aware of your health insurance restrictions and options for travel insurance. There are possible hazards in any country you visit. As you can see below, what is required to travel into Thailand and for a minimum amount of coverage.

THAILAND COVID POLICY (current as of April 29, 2022)

THIS IS IMPORTANT TO READ AND AGREE TO ALL PARTS BEFORE PUTTING DOWN YOUR DEPOSIT. THIS IS MANDATORY TO ENTER THEIR COUNTRY. You will be asked to check that you agree, understand AND adhere to their policies. There no refunds based on not following what is listed below:

International travelers will no longer need to take a PCR test before their travel or on arrival. The requirement to book a SHA+ hotel as part of the Test & Go entry scheme is also dropped under the CCSA decision. However you need to check the conditions of your flight to Thailand as some airlines may require a PCR test or proof of vaccination.

The Thailand Pass is still a requirement for everyone, Thais and foreigners. Documentation, including passport, vaccination certificates and proof of insurance, will still need to be uploaded and pre-approved before your arrival in Thailand. This will usually take no more than 3 days to be approved.

International travelers, who have been fully vaccinated for Covid-19, will no longer need to take a PCR test (both pre boarding and on arrival). The CCSA still recommends an ATK test on the fifth day and expects travelers to monitor their health whilst in Thailand, but the test is not compulsory.

Insurance coverage requirements will also be dropped from US$20,000 dollar to US$10,000. This is specific Covid insurance, separate from travel insurance.

International travelers are still required to have insurance. You need to have insurance, to the value of US$10,000 which covers hospitalization for any Covid treatments. It used to cover to a value of US$50,000 until the CCSA lowered it in March to US$20,000, and now it’s down to covering a value of US$10,000. (Kimberly has used Travelguard through AIG for her trips https://www.travelguard.com/)

For unvaccinated or under-vaccinated travelers, if they do a pre-travel PCR test, taken within 72 hours before departure, and it’s negative, they will be able to enter Thailand just the SAME as vaccinated travelers, with no pre-paid hotel, on arrival testing or quarantine. If they are unable or don’t want to do a PCR test, they will need to pre-book 5 days of accommodation at an alternative quarantine hotel. And do an ATK test on the fifth day. If it’s negative, you can leave and resume your travel.

It is still possible you will have to apply for the Thai Pass (we'll update this as we get updated information) and is still required to wear a mask in public places.
